AFTER 2 COATS ASPIRE CLAY/CHALK/MINERAL PAINT (CUSTOM BLEND OF INSPIRE AND SERENITY) I AM READY FOR THE FUN PART OF TAPING THE UNION JACK. USING A PROJECTOR AND A PRINTED PIC I POSITION THE UNION JACK ON MY BUFFET. I WILL NOW TAPE THE RED AND WHITE SECTIONS AS A WHOLE AND PAINT MY SECOND LIGHTER GREY IN THE ENTIRE SPACE! AFTER PAINTING THE ABOVE SECTION I REPLACED THE PROJECTION OVER THE ENTIRE BUFFET. REMOVED ALL TAPING AND ADDED NEW TAPE WHERE THE RED CROSS AND LINES ARE TO BE. MIXED A DARKER GREY AND PAINTED THE RED AREAS. MOVED TAPE RIGHT AWAY AND VOILA! LIGHTLY SANDED THE ENTIRE PIECE AND USED ASPIRE MULTI-SEALER DILUTED TO AN EASY TO USE THIN TOPCOAT. NEED TO FIND THE RIGHT HARDWARE AND WILL POST FINISH PRODUCT SOON! Our plan is to do a grey on grey union jack on this buffet. time to get painting our piece in our signature grey!
after letting the second coat of black dry for 1.5 hours, i sanded and cleaned off the dust. then using modern masters silver metallic paint, i dry brushed over the Aspire Endless. hardware also finished with Rub'n'buff silver metallic gilding wax. we sealed this piece using minwax poly and we mixed in a dash of holographic pwder for an added shimmer! We started with another amazing piece. With Aspire Mineral Paint no prep work is required, but i would recommend wiping the piece down to get dust or any sticky material removed. This piece was purchased in store and color of silver metallic over black has been chosen. as a finish they have requested some holographic shimmer. going to look awesome! we will be back this week with 2nd and final posts with this beauty! |
